Pier Paolo Pasolini nació en Casarsa, Friuli, en 1922 y fue asesinado en 1975, en una playa cercana a Ostia, el puerto de Roma. Los poemas seleccionados pertenecen al libro Del diario, y se escuchan con ¿Dónde estás?, por el trío Fernando Rusconi.
